Though we feel like we've found our
home in San Francisco, we're currently without a house. Apparently this was obvious to our friends, Gary & Natalie, who made sure we didn't go too far - they opened up their house and home in
Mill Valley to us. We get our own bedroom and mostly finished bath, with a large closet and a private entrance - they also allow us full run of the house and all of it's amenities: chef's kitchen with a no joke stove, mac daddy fridge, the coolest sink (you know how Bob loves to do dishes) AND the quietest dishwasher this side of the Mississippi! Of course there's the grill, the fireplace and the friendly garbage men. Oh yes, and the garden! Can you see it out the window? Look carefully through the trellis...do you see the umbrella...it's not open.

Of course, then there is the weather - warm, sunny t-shirt type (the rain you see on the window is not the norm) - we're no longer in Alaska! ...So we had lunch in the garden...

...where you can hear the creek that goes right by the house!

Beyond the physical setting, this home was just what we needed, not only the friendship and love but life's lessons and sharing them with others. Being here is quite like we're a plant in the garden, plants that have been through some bad weather and needed to be care for til the season changed. We're just glad that Gary & Natalie took us in, and that we were humble enough to accept - big lesson.
