The Thanksgiving Feast

Way up North our produce is nothing short of terrible except when it's from here, so we found a solution! We joined a Organic CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) out of Seattle and they deliver boxes at a local business every Thursday. We chose to get a box every two weeks and this was our first (it came a day early).
We had a sleep over Wed night - Kat's first - and got up 3 hours before sunrise, about 6:00 am, to make bread, Sourdough pancakes with Blueberries and a full (mostly organic) Thanksgiving Feast. Michelle and her dog Tierza came by at 11:00 with the fresh bird and Jed entertained us by reading the "Hobbit".

Two months late... better than not at all

Fall is one of the best times to visit any place in Alaska, so we set out in an RV with the Smith family (Jed, Kim & Katrianna) to experience Denali... as it turned out, mostly in the rain so thank goodness we didn't decide to tent it! We visited the excellent Visitor's Center, found a blueberry or two, snapped some fall colors between clouds and took a walk that ended when we ran into a couple moose.
